WAPI & ABI meet at the October 2007 Zaragoza Congress in Spain

WAPI European Representative Rick Howatson greets ABI President Richard Newman at the Zaragoza Congress where the IKD presented their proposed Minimum Competence Standards.

These Proposals are rather similar to the Proposals discussed a few years ago at the Strasbourg Congress and are thought by some Euro Professionals to be impractical in view of the diverse standards and current national legislation across the EU.

WAPI have tended to support the French perspective on these Issues, and hope that over time, all interested Parties can perhaps agree on the best way towards a European Licence for our Sector.

The ultimate challenge for all EU PI's is to persuede each State to participate in an EU Licence issued by each State to defined standards applicable in each State with a common basic EU minimum standard - On a par with the Drivers licence, Issued Nationally - respected Internationally

Why, oh why, do our lawmakers keep re-inventing the wheel.............
