DECOY & HONEY TRAP REQUESTS?
I was recently interviewed on some BBC Local Radio Stations
(as Chairman of WAPI) and posed with the "old hot potato"
issue of Decoy Assignments !
The previously determined WAPI policy as to the ethics of such assignments
was my response, and in case any of our members receive similar Media
approaches, I thought it prudent to advise all as to the Association's
ethical stance;
The WAPI - GC having discussed the issues around whether or not it is
ethical (in WAPI terms) to accept so called "Honey Trap" Pre-marital
assignments decided that was not prudent for members to undertake such
Instructions on the following grounds:-
a) Whereas in the USA and some parts of Europe Pre-Nuptial Contracts
are
the norm, and being that marriage is in effect the biggest Contract
undertaken by most people, here in the UK, it is not yet such a significant
factor as to warrant this type of "agent provocateur" involvement
of
Professional PI's
b) It is a sad fact of life within the UK's Media - it is the Messenger
rather than the Offender or the Message, that becomes the focus of media
attention!! Such publicity attracts negative factors and feelings towards
our Sector.
