Television show press release

Last year, Indigo Films hired Jimmie Mesis, a well known licensed private investigator from New Jersey who for the last 24 years has specialized in locating people. Jimmie was given what many thought would be an impossible assignment. He was asked by the History Channel to locate three Army soldiers who had served in the same unit during the Vietnam War. They were part of a 4-man helicopter crew that had been shot down. The pilot, Larry Kern didn't know what ever happened to his crew or if they had even survived the crash. For thirty three years he carried the guilt of being shot down and the safety of his men on his shoulders.

What made this request so difficult and unique was that Jimmie was only given the last names of the three soldiers and their approximate ages. In fact, even the spelling of their last names was not certain. Amazingly, within a few weeks Jimmie was able to identify the complete name of all three men and find each one, alive. Even though they had all survived, their lives went into many different directions. The History Channel was able to document the reunion that took thirty three years in the making and made possible by a dedicated professional investigator who was a Marine Corps veteran himself. The show will also highlight the investigative efforts of Gary Cohen of Alabama as he searches for a soldier in Europe.
