NOS FOR INVESTIGATION CONSULTATION EXERCISE
Over the last 6 months development of the National Occupational Standard for
Investigation has been undertaken.
Alan Martin, Head of Standards, ably assisted by Carol Oldfield from
SITO
have discussed at length with the, National Occupational Standards for
Investigators, Working Party Group. Both have then spent many hours
converting those discussions into recognisable standards.
The group consisted of:-
Ian J Hopkins FIPI, Dip.IISec, CFE
Alan Marr BA (Hons), FIPI, MABI, CII, EPIC
Richard J Newman BA (Hons), MABI, WAD, ACEA, IMLPO
Polly Sprenger BA (Minnesota), CFE
Ian Withers NVQ 4 (INV), WAPI, NCIS, NALI, NAPPS, LPIA, PIAM
With occasional but well informed input from Liz Challens MSC, of the
Security Industry Authority.
I would like to thank all of those concerned for their hard work in
studying
and reviewing the standards.
The standards are now available for all to study and comment on at
www.PSIAct.org.uk.
It will greatly assist Alan Martin and more importantly Carol Oldfield
if
all replies to the questionnaire could be sent via the electronic version
available from her at c.oldfield@sito.co.uk.
You can also copy the
questionnaire and send it to her at SITO Limited, Security House, Barbourne
Road, Worcester WR1 1RS or fax it back on 01905 724949.
This is an important opportunity for all investigators to comment on
the
standards.
I would also like to thank the Investigators Sector Group and the
Association of British Investigators for affording me the opportunity
to
chair the widest ranging review of the national occupational standard
for
investigators for many years. It is hoped that this foundation will
assist
with the continued professional development of investigators, in every
field
of investigation, within England & Wales and subsequently in Scotland
and
Northern Ireland, for years to come.
