This year WAPI celebrates 10 years as an Association exclusively for Professional Investigators
And what a 10 years it has been!! From the stress of Regulation to the stress of cancelled Regulation – who knows what will be next?!
So a 10 year Celebration Banquet is now booked for Saturday 19th November 2011 at the De Vere Devonport House, King William Walk, London, SE10 9JW
The planned programme will be as follows:
MORNING SESSION:
OPEN SOURCE INVESTIGATION AND INTERNET PROFILING WITH NEIL SMITH
After serving over 10 years as a police officer in a major UK police force and time spent working as a counter-fraud specialist for a government department and as a fraud investigator for insurance companies, Neil has spent 10 years as a full time investigative researcher for a mixture of clients, from insurance companies to law enforcement agencies.
For the last 8 years Neil has taught many hundreds of investigators, mostly from law enforcement, in the art of using the Internet as an Investigative tool. These courses have taken him all around the UK and into Europe.
AFTERNOON SESSION:
“HACKING, BLAGGING, BUGGING & TRACKING – THE LAW”
DAVID SWARBRICK
David Swarbrick was a solicitor in private practice for over thirty years and now writes on legal issues, publishing the lawindexpro case law database, and the swarb.co.uk law web-site. The swarb.co.uk website in particular is one of the busiest specialist law sites in the UK.
In practice David specialised in intellectual property law with an emphasis on computer related law, including computer crime, and in particular data protection, computer misuse, and encryption law and practice. Almost uniquely, he had experience working for clients ranging from the very large companies and bodies, down to individual hackers. Before coming into law, David worked in the computing industry and was able to apply his understanding of the mechanics of computing in his work.

Evening to commence at 7pm with champagne reception and close-up magic performed by Paul Martin who has performed for both Princes Charles & William!
Then join us for a sumptuous three course evening meal followed by first class live entertainment provided by Hula Groove, who will have you up dancing until the early hours!
