MINUTES OF GOVERNING COUNCIL MEETING
Friday 4th April 2003

Minutes of Meeting of 7th February 2003
Agreed and accepted.

Matters arising from minutes of meeting of 7th February 2003
It was reported that WAPI had secured a credit card payment arrangement.

Conferences
RH reported on the forthcoming European Conference to be held in Cadiz, Spain, in November this year. It was agreed that RH and JE would attend.

WAPI are hosting the next European Conference 2004, in London and it was proposed by RH to make enquiries to create a presentation CD for this event, seconded by JE.

JE is going to attend a French Association meeting in Montpelier.

It was also agreed to review any other European Conferences that come to our attention where WAPI should be represented.

There is an ABI Conference in Sheffield October 11, IW will post information.

IW will be attending NALI Conference, Indianapolis, June and a Conference arranged by PI Magazine November, in Atlantic City.

ISG Meeting on April 3, 2003
IDW outlined the Meeting, the Minutes of which will be published on www.PSIAct.org. This gives an indication of when Licensing is expected to be enacted. IW also advised that the SIA web site has now got an update page and members can Register with SIA on a voluntary basis. IW to do an Email to eGroup.

Annual Dinner
The 1st Annual Dinner has been booked for 13th September, details on web site, initially 100 places have been reserved. It was also proposed by IW seconded by KW that a second Trust bank account should be opened to deal with finances of the Banquet.

Annual General Meeting
Annual General Meeting to be held at Radisson Edwardian Hotel, London on Saturday September 13, 2003 at 10am. KW proposed that the Council be increased to 6 members, seconded by JE and passed. KW then proposed that one of the extra members be responsible for 'PR and Media' and the second one be responsible for 'Training'.

All council members at the AGM resign and invitations for nominees for all positions on the council are requested. IW stated he would send out email to eGroup in this connection with relevant time schedule.

Honorary Memberships
It was decided that Honorary members records would be kept with all others.

New Membership Applications
There were 4 new membership applications all of which were accepted by the GC and a further 3 that have been accepted in principal subject to further information from the applicants or their referees.

Any Other Business
Corporate Membership
A discussion took place on the benefits etc of corporate membership, the use of the WAPI logo by members, the voting rights of corporate members and the charges made for Corporate membership. As this proved to be a complex issue it was decided to deal with this matter again after Council members had given more thought as to how to best deal with this subject. It was decided that if any reduction be made to the Corporate Membership fees this would be refunded to those members affected.

JSIC
John Edwards is to liaise with JSIC in order to represent WAPI.
