Minutes of Meeting of 12th December 2002
No matters arising.
Complaints Proceedure
Ian Withers outlined a proposed procedure for dealing with Complaints against WAPI Members. After some discussions and alterations this was agreed and formally proposed by IW seconded by SW and carried unanimously. It was also agreed that the agreed Complaints Procedures would be published on the web site.
Varsity International
It had been requested that we operate reciprocal links between the WAPI and Varsity web sites. Some concerns were expressed as it might be thought that both Sites were competing directories. It was decided that any and all such reciprocal arrangements were beneficial to Members and Visitors to the WAPI Site. Proposed by JE. Seconded by KW. Carried unanimously.
Credit Card Merchant Services
This facility to enable WAPI to collect dues from Members should be in place and operating by the next meeting.
Appointed Overseas Representatives (AOR)
At present, WAPI has only one appointed (by the GC) Overseas membership Representative. It had been suggested that any AOR's should have a right to attend and to vote on the GC on behalf of the Members in the overseas region concerned. A discussion took place as to the advantages and disadvantages to this. It was finally proposed by IW that an AOR could be invited to join the GC as an overseas member, when the GC considered it reasonable to do so, and to have a vote on the GC. It would be at the AOR's expense to attend any GC Meetings.
New membership applications
There were 4 new membership applications all of which were accepted by the GC. In accordance with the previous GC Meeting, the Names would be published on the Site. Future Applicants will also be posted prior to acceptance by the GC.
ITC and Nat West Bank Issue
IW reported that National Westminster Bank are continuing their stance in continuing to decline PI's who apply to become "Establishments". However the Investigators Sector Group have agreed to take this issue up on behalf of the wider industry. (ISG has replaced the WFG)
ISG Meeting on February 6, 2003
IW outlined the Meeting, the Minutes of which will be published on the Investigators' Sector website www.PSIAct.org.
Annual Dinner
It was proposed that WAPI should organise an Annual Dinner to coincide with the next AGM in Sept 2003. It was decided to try and ascertain the likely support for this and to check for High Profile Speaker(s). To be discussed further at the next GC Meeting.
Annual General Meeting
Discussions took place as to when this should be, and whether the Annual Dinner, if it goes ahead, should be incorporated. This has also been left to the next GC meeting.
Any Other Business
Redesign of Application Form
The Membership Application Form has been redesigned and was shown to the meeting by SW. This was accepted. It was further proposed by IW, seconded by JE, and agreed by GC, that the following changes be made to membership fees.
Affiliate £150
Fellow £100
Overseas US$100
Certificate of Membership
The GC also viewed the redesigned WAPI "Certificate of Membership" SW proposed it for adoption, JE seconded and it was carried.

Jimmie Mesis, who is the owner of the PI Magazine and a practising PI in the USA, has confirmed that he would accept the Honorary Membership.
Members Web Pages
A Member tabled the asked why the provision of the Members Web Page only started at Full Member. Following discussions it was agreed and proposed by SW that all Members from Associate up should be entitled to this free page on the WAPI site. Seconded by KW. Carried subject to the Membership Status of the Member (Associate/Full etc) being included on the web page advert.
The basic design for the Members page shown to the meeting by KW as were the anticipated costs to WAPI. Whilst the page itself will be free to Members, additional entries will require a charge to be made to the Member. This was proposed by KW seconded by SW and carried.
